2 Droid Dos

Most Droid users love the Android operating system because it has far more dos than don’ts. With thousands of available apps, the system is one of the most powerful and popular on the market, and has boosted the sales of many cell phones. The Android operating system can multitask, run powerful apps like Google Maps, and in general, make life a little easier for its users. For Droid newbies, the potential of their new phones can seem overwhelming, so here are a couple ideas to get you started if you have a new Droid phone.

1. Browse The Marketplace

Although most Droid phones are sold with plenty of useful apps already installed, the factory settings are just the tip of the iceberg. The easiest place to find new apps is the Marketplace, an app store that has thousands of free apps as well. It’s also a good idea to go online and do some searches, such as, “Best Droid Apps,” or “top ten Droid apps,” to get an idea of what other people find useful. You’re sure to find some well-written descriptions of useful Droid tools, no matter what your interests are.

2. Use Gmail

The Droid operating system is designed to be used with Gmail, the free email application from Google. Not only does Gmail have dozens of useful features, but it also works great on a Droid cell phone. It’s a snap to browse through and delete emails, and it can be even quicker than using a PC. Using Gmail on a Droid also allows the user to synchronize the contacts on the phone with his Gmail contacts, eliminating the need to write down all of his contact numbers in case he loses his phone! It’s incredibly handy to have the full functionality of your email on your phone.
